A Community Rooted in Faith Since Its Founding
St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Mulanay, Quezon is a Catholic Church and the place of praise and worship for every individual. Our patron, St. Peter the Apostle — the first of Christ’s disciples and the rock of the Church — lived a life full of devoutness and valor.
We are a parish family bound by love, prayer, and the sacraments, serving the faithful of Mulanay and neighboring communities under the Diocese of Gumaca.

St. Peter the Apostle Parish is committed to nurturing faith through regular Mass, the sacraments (especially Eucharist and Reconciliation), Catechism for children, and outreach programs that serve the spiritually and materially needy in Mulanay and neighboring communities under the Diocese of Gumaca.

Our Story
A Brief History of the Parish
Early Founding
Franciscan missionaries reached the Bondoc Peninsula and established Mulanay as one of the oldest towns in the country, bringing the Catholic faith to local people.
Establishment of the Parish
St. Peter the Apostle Parish was officially established under the protection of St. Peter the Apostle, becoming a separate parish church in Mulanay, Quezon.
Construction of the Parish Church
The present church building was constructed using coral stones (“gasang”), featuring distinctive folk bas-reliefs on its façade that remain today.
Diocese of Gumaca
The parish belongs to the Diocese of Gumaca, serving the Bondoc Peninsula region of Quezon Province.
Today
The parish continues to thrive with regular Mass, sacraments, and ministries including the Ministry of Altar Servers (578+ members), remaining the heart of Catholic life in Mulanay.
Patron Saint
St. Peter the Apostle is the patron saint of the St. Peter the Apostle Parish Church in Mulanay, Quezon, and the patron saint of the entire town. The parish was erected in 1835 under the protection of St. Peter the Apostle, making him the titular saint of this historic coral stone church.
St. Peter (also known as Simon Peter) was one of the first 12 apostles of Jesus Christ and is considered the rock upon which Christ built His Church. He lived a life full of devoutness and valor, demonstrating unwavering faith despite his human weaknesses. As the patron saint of fishermen and the Catholic Church itself, St. Peter represents leadership, courage, and faithful service.
The town celebrates its 190th Patronal Town Fiesta in honor of St. Peter the Apostle from June 20–29 every year, with the main feast day on June 29. This vibrant celebration includes religious processions, cultural activities, and exciting competitions, offering a glimpse into Mulanay’s rich culture, deep faith, and warm hospitality.

Rev. Fr. Gabriel Villafañe serves as the Parish Priest of St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Mulanay, Quezon, under the Diocese of Gumaca. He oversees the spiritual needs of the parish family, celebrates the sacraments, and leads various outreach programs serving Mulanay and neighboring communities in the Bondoc Peninsula.
